BILSTEIN TECHNOLOGY - Control Stability
Competence right from the startAudi, BMW, Bugatti, Jaguar, Lotus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen …..
Control, driving enjoyment, sport and comfort – experience the differenceThe typical BILSTEIN suspension setting – comfort & sport – is established during elaborate road tests among others with Walter Röhrl. At the Mercedes-Benz test track "Papenburg", as well as at High speed, rapid lane changes, easy handling, car balance, traction, comfort, … Only after every aspect has successfully met the high BILSTEIN requirements is the suspension kit ready for production and placed on the market. A perfectly designed BILSTEIN suspension system provides pure driving enjoyment and safety, especially under extreme driving conditions.

BILSTEIN gas pressure technology
It is a must-have for sports suspension kits.

BILSTEIN monotube-technology
The monotube design allows heat in the shock absorber to dissipate quickly and efficiently. The large digressive working piston gives a perfect setting and keeps flow pressures low. BILSTEIN’s revolutionary gas pressure system uses a separate chamber of nitrogen gas to compress the hydraulic fluid, preventing cavitations. The damping forces defined by BILSTEIN’s engineers are not diminished by cavitation or heat, therefore providing consistent, fade-free comfortable performance in all driving conditions.

Ride, handling and control are what a shock absorber provides. Compromise in one area may create a problem in another. Bilstein's patented design reduces the need for compromise. The rising rate valving of the Bilstein shock absorber provides the necessary damping to react quicker to road conditions without sacrificing ride comfort. This combination of valving and high pressure nitrogen gas keeps the tires in constant contact with the road helping to ensure safety through enhanced control.
Conventional shocks slowly lose efficiency and eventually fail over a period of time, causing excessive tire and suspension component wear. Bilstein shocks continue to deliver optimum performance for life. Of all a vehicle's suspension components, nothing works harder than the shock absorbers, making it critical to pick the correct ones. Bilstein Gas Pressurized Shock Absorbers are the least expensive, fastest way, to dramatically improve the ride, handling and control of a vehicle. Additionally, with Bilstein's aftermarket lifetime warranty, you can be assured they're built to last (refer to the Warranty page for full warranty details).

Most conventional shocks are made with shock bodies cut from a piece of steel tubing, stamped internal parts and compromised tolerances.

In contrast, Bilstein's shock bodies are precision formed through a unique seamless extrusion process. This provides superior strength along with high finish tolerances that are usually associated with surgical instruments. The shock body is then treated with a special paint finish durable enough to withstand grueling 240-hour salt spray tests. The finished body is mated with a solid, induction hardened steel chrome plated and polished shaft, machined valving components and highest quality seals. Combined with extreme attention to detail, Bilstein manufactures the closest thing to a hand built shock available today.
